This lithograph shows Philadelphia’s volunteer fire companies battling a fire at Peter Wright & Sons glass store on the north side of the 500 block of Market Street #OnThisDay in 1850. The building also contained a dry goods store operated by Hieskell, Hoskins & Co., as well as the business of bookseller and publisher James Smith & Co.
