Founded by Ben Franklin in 1731, we are an independent research library specializing in American history and culture from the 17th through the 19th centuries. The spine pictured here we like to informally (and affectionately) call a Frankenstein binding. There are layers of damage and repairs made to this book and the result is actually quite beautiful. #narrativelibrarianship
